Zamalek Club has approved Mohamed Hamad, a 2008-born youth team player, to undergo a training stint at Benfica in Portugal, following the Portuguese club's insistence on his presence.
A source at Zamalek Club stated in remarks to Yalla Kora: "The club does not stand in the way of its players achieving their ambitions, and such opportunities reflect positively on the club and its football sector."
The source added: "This is not the first time Zamalek has allowed youth academy players to undertake training stints at European clubs."
He continued: "Mohamed Hamad is one of the promising talents in the youth academy, and this opportunity does not mean relinquishing the player or the team's stars."
Concluding on this matter, he said: "The training stint represents a valuable opportunity for the player to gain new experience; if he proves himself, it will be a positive outcome for both the player and Zamalek Club as well as the football sector."
This move came after close monitoring by Benfica's scouts and officials over the recent period, whether during his time with Zamalek's youth teams or the national youth squads.
His abilities earned the admiration of the football management at the Portuguese club, leading to his inclusion with Zamalek's first team this season, alongside his appearances during parts of last season.
Mohamed Hamad previously came on as a substitute in Zamalek's first match of the current season against Al Ittihad Alexandria, playing in the right-wing position.
