Tharwat Sweilem submitted an apology to the Board of Directors of the Clubs Association regarding his candidacy in the elections for the Board of Directors of the Clubs Association, which were held today, Monday, at the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association in 6th of October City.
An informed source told Yalla Koura that Sweilem and his family were subjected to an unjustified fan attack as soon as he announced his candidacy in the association's elections.
The source, who declined to be identified, stated that there were other reasons related to the work mechanism that led to Sweilem's decision to apologize.
Tharwat Sweilem did not attend the association's elections, as he sent his apology letter today.
The Egyptian Football Association had announced the names of the candidates from the clubs for membership in the Board of Directors of the First Division Clubs Association.
The names of the candidates were as follows: Ahmed Diab, Ibrahim El-Kafrawy, Khaled Refaat, Khaled Shukri, and Mohamed Shaaban El-Khouly.
The Egyptian Football Association extended an invitation to the member clubs to attend the meeting to elect the Board of Directors of the First Division Clubs Association.
