Wael Gomaa, Al Ahly's football director, expressed his happiness with the victory but did not hide his dissatisfaction with the team's performance at the start of the match.
Al Ahly overturned their deficit to secure a 3-2 win against Sharqia Enppi in the first round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Wael Gomaa, Al Ahly's football director, told On Sport: "It was a difficult match, especially since we started poorly and didn't enter the game with focus. We made many wrong passes, and the lack of concentration affected us."
He added, "Sharqia Enppi helped us with their defensive positioning after losing possession, and we achieved our objective, which was the victory."
He continued, "Today's match serves as a good lesson for us at the beginning of the season, and we will try to benefit from it."
He concluded, "I am happy with the result but not with the start."
He finished by saying, "My return to Al Ahly? It is under the club's command, and I am happy with the fans' support for us."
