Vinicius Junior confirmed that the preparation period for the new season is proceeding positively within Real Madrid's ranks, noting that technical director Jose Mourinho asked him to continue delivering his usual style on the pitch.
The Brazilian star returned to join Real Madrid's training yesterday, Monday, amid uncertainty about his future with the team given the expiration of his contract in summer 2027 and the lack of an agreement on renewing his deal with the Royal Club.
Vinicius's statements
Vinicius said the atmosphere during the camp was good, explaining: "Things went well; I got to know the new coach and the new players, and I trained hard."
He added that Mourinho gave him clear instructions about his role, saying: "Mourinho wants me to be as I always have been: happy, joyful, and playing in my own style."
The Brazilian star stressed the importance of physical preparation before the season starts, affirming: "We must prepare physically to reduce injuries during the season and to be able to rely on everyone."
Vinicius revealed the training program the team is following during the camp, saying: "A double training session yesterday, and one session today; that's our program. Today we did some exercises in the gym and short drills to strengthen the leg muscles. It was a good training session, and we all left exhausted, but now it's time to rest in preparation for tomorrow."
He concluded his remarks by emphasizing the importance of the current phase, saying: "This is how the pre-season preparation period is, and we must be ready."
