The Council clarified, in an official statement, that the decision was based on the findings of the General Department of Monitoring at the Supreme Council for Media Regulation and the Committee for Regulating Sports Media Performance, chaired by Counselor Abdel Salam El-Nagar, a Council member and Vice President of the State Council.

The Complaints Committee, chaired by media figure Essam El-Amir, the Council’s Deputy, decided to summon the legal representative of Al Hayat channel to a hearing.

The Council noted that the summons is to investigate the violations attributed to the episode, which it deemed a breach of the media codes issued by the Supreme Council for Media Regulation.
