The Turkish club Beşiktaş has begun searching for an alternative to Mohamed Salah to bolster its ranks during the summer transfer window.

Önder Özen, the sports director of the Turkish club Beşiktaş, announced his club's withdrawal from the negotiating table with Egyptian national team star Mohamed Salah.
The Turkish website turkiyegazetesi stated that "Beşiktaş's management refused to agree to demands that would harm the club's financial discipline."
The site noted that Beşiktaş was prepared to pay 20 million euros to Salah and his agent for one season only.
With the deal failing, this budget remains in the club's coffers.
The Turkish site revealed that Beşiktaş's management is attempting to seize the opportunity to distribute that huge budget, which was allocated for a single star, across various positions.
According to the site, Beşiktaş's management is seeking to sign Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa during the summer transfer window.
The Turkish club had targeted signing Chiesa last season, but the deal did not go through.
The Turkish site added, "Italian Vincenzo Italiano, Beşiktaş's coach, will personally participate in the negotiations to sign his compatriot Chiesa, who is not satisfied at Liverpool."
Beşiktaş also seeks to exploit the financial difference after failing to complete the Salah deal to bolster its defense.
The name of German defender Jeff Chabot of Stuttgart has emerged; he played under Italiano at Italian club Spezia in the 2020-2021 season.
