External press reports have revealed the possibility of Omar Abdel Majeed, the former player in the reserve team of the German club Hamburg, undergoing a new trial in Europe during the upcoming period.
The German newspaper Liga Zwei reported that Greuther Fürth club is testing Omar Abdel Majeed during the current period, in preparation for signing him in a free transfer after the end of his contract with Hamburg.
The report indicated that Greuther Fürth, active in the German second division, is considering signing the Egyptian midfielder Omar Abdel Majeed, who is currently undergoing a trial period with the team.
Abdel Majeed participated for 35 minutes in the friendly match that Greuther Fürth lost to Hoffenheim by four goals to one, as part of the trial period he is undergoing with the team, in an effort to convince the technical staff to grant him a contract before the start of the new season.
The report added: "Despite not being able to leave a clear mark during his participation, the chances of him joining the club are still present, especially since the deal will not cost Greuther Fürth any financial compensation, after the player's contract with Hamburg ended on June 30 last."
The club announced in the past two days the signing of Mika Valentinovits on loan from Schalke, before contracting with the Hungarian defender Christian Kerestich coming from Hungarian Nyíregyháza for one season on loan, with a clause granting the club the right to purchase his contract permanently.
The newspaper concluded: "The player, born in Hamburg and of Egyptian origin, hopes to get a new opportunity for his professional career, after having previously represented the Egyptian national team under 20 in two international matches."
Omar Abdel Majeed, who is 20 years old, is proficient in playing in more than one position in midfield, and progressed through the Hamburg academy since 2019, and participated in two matches with the first team in the German second division, but he played in the past season with the reserve team in the regional league.
