Egyptian international and Saudi club Al-Riyadh winger Mahmoud Hassan "Trezeguet" revealed for the first time his advice to Mohamed Salah to join the Turkish league.
Salah began a new chapter in his football journey when he joined Turkish club Trabzonspor during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Trezeguet said in a television interview via Rotana channel: "I know well the strength of the Saudi league, and I am proud to be in a major league and very happy to be in Saudi Arabia, my second country."
He added: "I hope to make history with Al-Riyadh and achieve success with them."
He continued: "One of the pleasant surprises I found is that there are Egyptian fans in any stadium, and I thank them for their support (Egyptians are always there for each other)."
He went on: "I am not thinking about international retirement; I am still young and at the disposal of the Egyptian national team at any time."
Regarding his advice to Mohamed Salah to join the Turkish league, Trezeguet said: "The officials at Trabzonspor spoke to me before signing Mohamed Salah. Salah is like a brother to me, and I advised him to go to the Turkish league."
He concluded: "I wish Mohamed Salah success and that he continues to raise the name of our country."
When asked about Mohamed Salah's successor, whether it would be Hamza Abdel Karim or Omar Marmoush, the former Al-Ahly player replied: "For me, every player has his own story. We do not want to put pressure on players because of what Mohamed Salah has achieved."
