Trabzonspor coach Fatih Tekke spoke after a clean sheet defeat to Hungary's Ferencváros in the first leg of the Europa League qualifying playoff.
Tekke said in statements published by the Turkish website "61 saat": "We suffered two defeats in this match: a one-goal loss and one of our players receiving a red card."
He added: "We had several opportunities, but things didn't go as we wanted today. As for the course of the match, we had the desire and will to qualify. Our task has become a bit harder, but it is not impossible."
He continued: "Looking at the course of the match, the result should have been completely different, and the referee managed the game very poorly."

Tekke continued regarding the possibility of strengthening Trabzon's squad during the transfer window: "We have aspirations to sign a proper striker or a defensive number 6 midfielder. We will see."
He resumed: "I think we left a good impression on our fans, and the players also left a good impression on me. We will improve. In the end, we had a disappointing day, and we will go there to win."
He completed: "There was an individual error in the goal we conceded. The expectations of those who came to support us regarding the match were met, but not regarding the result."
Trabzon's coach emphasized: "Overall, the 90 minutes left a positive impression on me. I have a feeling that we will develop for the better. We achieved everything we wanted, or at least in the way we worked for it, except for the goal. We also received a somewhat harsh red card from a referee whose performance I did not like at all."
Tekke confirmed regarding Mohamed Salah's performance: "He performed very well. A few players performed below par, but I think we are improving. There is a high level of desire and enthusiasm among the players, and I am confident that we will become better. We need to win. The final result in the two matches was less than we expected, but we were superior in terms of performance."
Tekke also mentioned Trabzon's new players: "Salah and other players performed strongly. I congratulated the players who performed very positively. I did so today, even though I sometimes don't congratulate them even when we win. We need to show more quality in the forward line through the match, which we did today, so I cannot blame the players. We must establish a winning culture, and I thank our fans for their excellent atmosphere. As for the negative aspects, they were giving the best to the opponent and our player receiving a red card."
He concluded: "We wanted to make a difference by fielding Salah as a striker, and the result was positive today. I am very happy with the team's reaction overall and the desire and determination they showed. I don't know how others see it, but I am very satisfied."
