French newspaper Foot Mercato revealed that Spanish player Ferran Torres, Barcelona striker, informed those close to him and a number of his teammates inside the team's dressing room of his desire to move to Paris Saint-Germain during the current summer transfer window.
The newspaper added that Paris Saint-Germain, which is seeking to strengthen its attacking line, places Torres among its top targets, especially after the distinguished season the player delivered with Barcelona, having scored 16 goals and provided two assists in 33 La Liga matches.
It clarified that Barcelona's management has become open to discussing the player's departure after understanding his desire to pursue a new experience, noting that negotiations between the two clubs are set to begin early next week to explore the possibility of reaching an agreement.
It confirmed that negotiations remain in their early stages and no agreement has yet been reached between the clubs, though Barcelona has shown willingness to listen to an offer from Paris Saint-Germain, marking a new development in the matter.
Torres is one of the options favored by coach Luis Enrique, given his ability to play as a central striker or on the wings, granting him tactical flexibility in the forward line.
