The Supreme Council for Media Regulation has decided to summon the legal representative of Al-Ahly Channel for a hearing due to violations committed by the program "Hona Al-Ahly," presented by Ahmed Belal.
The Supreme Council for Media Regulation clarified that the decision was made because the program violated media codes.
The Supreme Council for Media Regulation stated via its Facebook account:
"Based on the findings of the General Administration for Monitoring at the Supreme Council for Media Regulation and the Committee for Regulating Sports Media Performance, chaired by Counselor Abdelsalam El-Naggar, a member of the Council and Vice-President of the State Council, the Complaints Committee, chaired by Essam El-Amir, Deputy Head of the Council, has decided to summon the legal representative of 'Al-Ahly' Channel for a hearing regarding violations of the media codes issued by the Council contained in the episode of the program 'Hona Al-Ahly,' broadcast on August 31, presented by Ahmed Belal." .
Al-Ahly Channel recently enlisted Ahmed Belal to present the program "Hona Al-Ahly."
Belal worked in sports analysis and media after retiring from football in 2014.
Belal was one of the stars of Al-Ahly Club's youth sector and captained the Egyptian national team at the 1997 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Belal continued his career with Al-Ahly's first team and the Egyptian national team, and played for the clubs Smouha, ENPPI, Konyaspor, and Ankaragücü in the Turkish league.
