The first round of the new season in the league competition witnessed a special kind of rivalry between the two poles of Egyptian football, Al Ahly and its rival Zamalek, as the competition was between the fans of the two clubs in the stands.
Zamalek played against Al Ittihad Alexandria last Friday evening, and the match ended in a goalless draw in a game held at "Cairo Stadium," marking the start of "the White Knight's" title defense with a draw.
Zamalek fans prepared a special tifo before the match against Al Ittihad, raising a helicopter tifo in reference to the league trophy from the previous season.
Zamalek had won the Egyptian league title, with the trophy arriving at "Cairo Stadium" via a helicopter at the time, amid a title race in the final week between Al Ahly and Pyramids.
Zamalek fans also displayed a man wearing a tarboosh, symbolizing a fan of the White Fortress and immortalizing his love for the white club, alongside phrases such as "Ready" and "The fans are number 1."
On the other hand, Al Ahly fans staged numerous scenes, both before and during the match against Enppi, which ended in a 3-2 victory for the Red team.
During the match, Al Ahly fans mocked Zamalek duo Abdullah Saeed and Juan Pizara, due to their recent situations with their club.
Abdullah Saeed had been absent from the start of Zamalek's pre-season camp, as he had not received his overdue financial dues, leading the player to decide to terminate his contract before changing his mind after the intervention of "White Fortress" officials.
Meanwhile, Brazilian Juan Pizara is absent from Zamalek due to his desire to leave, after receiving an offer from Dubai's Shabab Al Ahli club to sign him for $4 million.
Pizara was not present at Zamalek's camp, as the player refused to return to Egypt, sticking to his decision to leave despite having received his full dues.
