Saudi Al-Ittihad Jeddah Club announced its contract with German Jens Wissing to take over coaching the team.

Jeddah Al-Ittihad revealed via its official account on X that Wissing will lead the team under a contract extending until 2028.

Frank Cario, the sports director of Jeddah Al-Ittihad, explained that he trusts the technical abilities of the German coach, wishing him success and the realization of the fans' aspirations.

Wissing took over the leadership of Jeddah Al-Ittihad succeeding the Portuguese Sergio Conceicao, who was dismissed at the end of the season.

The Saudi club announced the termination of the contractual relationship with the Portuguese coach after a comprehensive review and evaluation of the team's journey, in line with the club's goals and aspirations for the next stage according to the club's statement at the beginning of last June.

Last October, Jeddah Al-Ittihad announced the contract with Conceicao until 2028 after dismissing the Frenchman Laurent Blanc, who led the team to achieve the Saudi League and King's Cup double in the 2024-2025 season.

Under Conceicao's supervision, Jeddah Al-Ittihad played 41 matches, winning 21 of them, while drawing 7 times and suffering 13 defeats.

Locally, the team finished the league in fifth place and exited the King's Cup in the semi-finals, while internationally it was eliminated from the AFC Champions League Elite in the quarter-finals.
