Saudi Al-Ittihad Club is heading towards a temporary solution before the closure of the summer transfer window, as "Al-ameed" had aimed to sign Algerian international Anis Haj Moussa, a player for Feyenoord.
Feyenoord Club had set a difficult condition to complete the deal by requesting a bank guarantee from Al-Ittihad Club, which is hard to achieve given the time factor, as the transfer window closes tonight.
The Algerian player tried to pressure his club's management to obtain approval for his departure to Al-Ittihad, but the deal faces complexities in being officially finalized.
Therefore, journalist Majid Hood, who covers Al-Ittihad news, reported that negotiations are underway with the Dutch player Wijnaldum to join "Al-ameed" on a free transfer.
Wijnaldum has previous experience in Saudi football, having played for Al-Ettifaq before leaving this summer without reaching an agreement on renewing his expired contract.
According to Transfermarkt statistics for the 35-year-old, he participated in 101 matches across all competitions, scoring 38 goals and providing 17 assists.
Al-Ittihad team achieved a victory last Saturday evening against Al-Nassr in the Saudi Football Classic with a score of two goals to one, in the highlight match concluding the fifth round of the Saudi League competition.
"Al-ameed" currently occupies fourth place with 11 points, having won three matches and drawn two, trailing league leaders Al-Hilal by four points.
