Mahmoud Jihad, the midfielder of Al-Zamalek's first football team, continues to be absent from participating with the team.

Maamoun Gamal excluded Mahmoud Jihad from Al-Zamalek's squad for the match against El Mansoura Petrotrade this evening in the third round of the Egyptian Premier League.

A source told Laila Kora: "Mahmoud Jihad spoke with Maamoun Gamal to find out the reason for his absence from the matches, despite being technically and physically ready."

The source added: "Mahmoud Jihad expressed his dissatisfaction with the continuation of his absence, but Maamoun Gamal assured him that he would be involved at the right time."

The source clarified: "Maamoun Gamal believes that some players are more ready than Jihad during this period."

The source concluded: "His leaving Cairo Stadium after being left out of the squad for the previous match against Bank of Alexandria is normal, and he cannot be forced to stay on the field while he is not in the squad."

Al-Zamalek is currently in fifth place in the Egyptian Premier League standings with 4 points.

Al-Zamalek had previously secured a win and a draw in their first two matches in the Egyptian league.
