Wael Gomaa, the football director of Al-Ahly Club, revealed the reason for Imam Ashour's absence from the match against Smouha, the Red Devils' midfielder.
The Red Team will host the Alexandrian team tomorrow evening, Thursday, as part of the third round matches of the Egyptian Premier League.

Wael Gomaa, the football director of Al-Ahly Club, stated in remarks to Yalla Kora: "Imam Ashour's absence against Smouha is due to him not reaching full readiness, either physically or technically."
He added: "Imam Ashour is expected to be available for the next match according to the technical staff's assessment."
The Red Team's midfielder has not participated in any match with the team since the beginning of the current season.
The Red Team currently occupies third place in the Egyptian Premier League standings with 6 points, trailing Pyramids FC, who lead the table, by 3 points.
Meanwhile, the Alexandrian team sits in 17th place in the Egyptian Premier League standings with only one point.
