A source at Zamalek revealed the reason behind the presence of Hossam El-Zanaty, deputy sporting director at Danish club Nordsjaelland, at the friendly match between Zamalek and Eastern Company FC (El Sharqia Enppi) held at Petrosport Stadium.
El-Zanaty is attending the match to watch it, amid reports linking his name to the position of sporting director at Zamalek following John Edward's departure from the team.
The source told Yalla Kora in exclusive comments: "Hossam El-Zanaty's attendance at one of Zamalek's matches is not the first time this season; he was previously present at the friendly against Modern Sport before the league started."
The source added: "Hossam El-Zanaty attended the match against Eastern Company FC as a guest, not in an official capacity."
He concluded: "Zamalek's negotiations with El-Zanaty are very advanced, with only minor details remaining before the official announcement of his appointment as sporting director."
Zamalek is preparing to face Zed on October 7th at Al-Mokawloon Al-Arab Stadium, marking the start of their journey in the group stage of the Egypt Capital Cup tournament.
Zamalek will play six matches across various competitions during October, comprising three fixtures in the Egyptian Premier League, two in the CAF Champions League, and one in the Egypt Capital Cup.
