Chelsea Club announced the signing of Danny Welbeck coming from Brighton until 2028.

The London club did not disclose the value of the deal.
The veteran English player will join the Blues camp under the leadership of Xabi Alonso, the technical director.
Welbeck said via the club's official website: "When you hear about Chelsea's interest, that fills you with great pride. Knowing Chelsea's history, it is a club that wants to win titles and strives to achieve that every season."
He added, "I have that burning desire inside me, and I am ready to do everything in my power for this club, to make everyone at Chelsea, and the fans, proud of me."
Welbeck has played more than 400 matches in the English Premier League and participated in two editions wearing the England national team jersey in the World Cup.
In total, the 35-year-old striker scored 123 goals in 525 matches throughout his career.
Welbeck began his career with Manchester United and won the English Premier League title, the League Cup, the FA Cup, the Champions League, in addition to the Club World Cup.
He also joined Arsenal in 2014 and during 5 seasons won 3 titles.
Then he moved to Watford and in 2020 joined Brighton and contributed to qualifying the team for European competitions for the first time in its history.
Last season, he scored 13 goals in 27 matches in the English Premier League.
Wearing the England national team jersey, he played 42 international matches and scored 16 goals.

Welbeck is the only player on Chelsea's roster who is over 30 years old.
The closest player in age to Welbeck on the team is Tosin Adarabioyo at 28 years old.
Welbeck became the Blues' sixth signing after the arrivals of Morgan Rogers, Maxence Lacroix, Marco Palestra, Giovanni Kyonda and Emmanuel Imaha.
The team begins its season with a match against Fulham in the first round of the English Premier League on August 24.
