The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association held a meeting today, chaired by Engineer Hani Abu Rida, to discuss a number of files and topics related to Egyptian football.
The Football Association issued many important decisions during its meeting held this Saturday afternoon at the Association's headquarters in 6th of October City, the most prominent of which was the appointment of Essam Abdel Fattah as head of the Referees Committee instead of the Colombian Oscar Ruiz.

The Football Association also announced the appointment of Shawky Gharib as the new technical director of the Football Association, succeeding Alaa Nabil, in addition to specifying a committee that includes Khaled El-Derandaly to determine the terms of renewing the contract of Hossam Hassan, the technical director of the Egyptian national team.
Football Association decisions
1. Approving the Egyptian clubs participating in the African Champions League and the African Confederation Cup for the 2026-2027 sports season, where Zamalek and Pyramids participate in the African Champions League, while Al Ahly and ZED participate in the African Confederation Cup.
2. Forming a committee that includes Khaled El-Derandaly, Tarek Abu El-Enein, and Hamada El-Sherbiny, to determine the terms of renewing the contract with Hossam Hassan, the technical director of the Egyptian national team, provided that the committee presents the terms it reaches to Engineer Hani Abu Rida, the president of the Association.
3. Appointing Essam Abdel Fattah as head of the Referees Committee for the 2026-2027 sports season, provided that the formation of the committee is presented during the next meeting of the Board of Directors.
4. Appointing Shawky Gharib as technical director of the Egyptian Football Association.
5. Approving the Secretary General's memorandum regarding support for popular clubs, the television broadcasting share, and competition prizes for the 2026-2027 sports season.
6. Approving the medical staff regulations for teams and national teams, to be implemented starting from the 2026-2027 sports season..
