The Jordanian Football Federation issued an official statement today, Sunday, regarding the Moroccan Badou Zaki, the new technical director of Al-Nashama.
The Board of Directors of the Jordanian Football Federation, headed by Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, decided to appoint Moroccan coach Badou Zaki as coach of the first national team under a one-year contract to lead Al-Nashama in the upcoming fixtures, succeeding his compatriot Jamal Al-Salami.
The Federation said in its statement: "The Jordanian Football Federation will hold a press conference at twelve noon on Thursday, August 6, at its headquarters to introduce the coach of the first national team, Moroccan Badou Zaki, and discuss the features of the next stage for Al-Nashama".
He added: "The Federation invites accredited media representatives to attend the introduction ceremony and cover the press conference".
Zaki has a rich record as both a player and coach; he led the Moroccan national team to a historic achievement at the 1986 World Cup finals in Mexico by reaching the round of 16, was named Africa's best player in 1986, and enjoyed a distinguished career with Spanish club Real Mallorca.
On the coaching side, Zaki led the Moroccan national team to the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations final and oversaw the training of several clubs and national teams, most notably Wydad Athletic, Fath Rabati, Kawkab Marrakshi, and Ittihad Tangier, in addition to the Sudanese and Nigerien national teams.
