A source inside the Egyptian Football Association revealed details of the fine imposed on Saafan Al-Saghir, the goalkeeper coach of the national team.

FIFA imposed a financial fine on Saafan Al-Saghir, following the events of the Egypt vs Argentina match in the round of 16 of the World Cup competitions, in addition to a two-match suspension.

A source inside the Football Association denied what was circulated in the past few hours about the Football Association bearing any financial amount from Saafan Al-Saghir's fine.

The source confirmed in statements to "Yalla Koura" that Saafan Al-Saghir's fine exceeds 50 thousand dollars.

He explained that the Football Association deducted an amount of 20 thousand dollars from Saafan Al-Saghir's World Cup bonuses in anticipation of the penalty imposed by FIFA, which has not been officially announced.

The Football Association decided to deduct this amount from Saafan Al-Saghir because they knew in advance that there would be a penalty imposed on the goalkeeper coach as a result of the events of the Argentina match.

At the same time, the source mentioned that deducting fines related to various associations is a fixed regulation and must be deducted from the technical staff members, and the Football Association cannot bear them.

The source also added: "There is one condition for the Football Association to bear the fine, which is addressing the administrative body represented by the Ministry of Sports, but we did not do that".
