The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association, chaired by Hany Abou Reida, has appointed Mohamed Abd El-Monasef as the goalkeeping coach for Egypt's U-20 national team (born in 2007), which is technically led by Wael Ryad.
This marks Mohamed Abd El-Monasef's first experience at the national team level, as he has never previously coached any national squad.
Mohamed Abd El-Monasef took on the role of goalkeeping coach for Zamalek and National Bank of Egypt following his retirement from football in 2022.
The youth national team is preparing to compete in the North African qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The North African qualifiers will be held in Egypt, specifically in the city of Ismailia, from September 21st until October 6th.
Essam El-Hadary had been temporarily leading the goalkeeping training for Egypt's U-20 national team (born in 2007) following the departure of Ibrahim Abdel Gawad, the former goalkeeping coach.
