The Football Association announces the formation of a committee to renew Hossam Hassan's contract

The board of directors of the Egyptian Football Association held a meeting today, Saturday, chaired by Engineer Hani Abu Rida, to discuss a number of files and topics related to Egyptian football.

The Football Association meeting witnessed decisive decisions regarding the fate of Hossam Hassan, the current technical director of Egypt's first national football team.

Forming a tripartite committee to decide the fate of Hossam Hassan

The Football Association announced through an official statement that a committee was formed including Khaled El-Derandaly, Tarek Abu El-Enein, and Hamada El-Sherbiny, to determine the terms of renewing the contract with Hossam Hassan, the technical director of Egypt's first national team.

The Egyptian Association's statement noted that the mentioned committee will present the terms reached to Engineer Hani Abu Rida, the head of the association.

Hossam Hassan led the Egyptian national team during the past period to reach the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, where they were eliminated after losing to Argentina with a score of (2-3).

In addition, Hossam Hassan led the Pharaohs' squad to the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco.

In total, Hossam Hassan supervised the training of the Egyptian national team, since taking over the task in February 2024, during 35 matches, achieving 20 wins, 9 draws, and suffering 6 losses.
