The European Club Association criticized FIFA and its president, Gianni Infantino, following the latter's project represented by a private company called "FIFA Forward Enterprise", which will handle FIFA's commercial activities, the World Cup, and other tournaments as well.
Reports indicated that FIFA will also allow other investors to participate in this project, which raised concerns for the European Club Association.
The European Club Association said in an official statement conveyed by the reliable journalist "Ben Jacobs": "The European Club Association expresses its deep concern regarding the sudden and unilateral media briefings issued by FIFA and its announcement of a potential new institutional structure for marketing some football competitions".
The statement added: "As an institution representing more than 850 clubs, whose member clubs, players, and communities are key participants in football worldwide, particularly in FIFA competitions, including all international club competitions, it is entirely appropriate to fully consult the European Club Association on a proposal of this magnitude".

He clarified: "The European Club Association learned of this proposal in the same way that most stakeholders in world football did, without prior warning and through the media".
He added: "The European Club Association always seeks to work cooperatively and supportively with all stakeholders, FIFA and UEFA, all continental confederations, national associations, leagues, players' unions, and fans".
The statement continued: "In this context, we urge calm and in-depth consultation on all issues affecting the football ecosystem, alongside establishing more rigorous and transparent governance mechanisms to protect the game in the long term".
He concluded: "Only in this way can we build the institutional frameworks and sound relationships necessary to enhance the true success, stability, and sustainability of football".
