The crisis of Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Al Ahly player, with his former club, Zamalek, continues to escalate, following the decision of the Players' Affairs Committee affiliated with the Egyptian Football Association.
Several months ago, Zizo filed a complaint to obtain financial dues he did not receive from his contract with Zamalek, while the White Club announced that the player is not entitled to any money, and its administration confirmed that the player is the one required to pay a percentage of his advertising rights.
Zamalek announced this evening, Wednesday, in an official statement, that it had received a letter from the Egyptian Football Association stating that Ahmed Sayed Zizo's complaint against the club had been archived, following the Players' Affairs Committee's review of the complaint and the documents submitted by both parties.
Appeals first
Egyptian fans wondered when this crisis would reach the Court of Arbitration for Sport, known as "CAS", which is considered the final step in litigation between the two parties and will make a definitive ruling on the crisis.
Neither Zamalek Club nor Ahmed Sayed Zizo is entitled to file a complaint with the Court of Arbitration for Sport at present without taking a new local litigation step, as the Grievances Committee of the Football Association is scheduled to be the next body competent to consider the disputed complaint.
The two parties decided to resort to the Grievances Committee of the Egyptian Football Association to complete the claim for their financial rights, so that Egyptian football fans will be awaiting a new step in this crisis.
Resorting to CAS
Whatever decision the Appeals Committee "Grievances" of the Egyptian Football Association takes, Zamalek and Ahmed Sayed Zizo will then have the right to resort to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to complete the litigation steps, if the decision is not in the interest of either or both of them.
According to Article 17 of the Football Association Appeals Committee regulations, all its decisions are final and binding on all concerned parties, and may not be appealed within the Association, which means there is no other judicial body available to the disputing parties except the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The competencies of the Grievances Committee stipulate only one matter, which is to consider appeals submitted against the decisions of the judicial committees, the decisions of the Players' Affairs Committee, competitions, sectors, and the rest of the technical committees of the Football Association.
The Grievances Committee of the Football Association will have 3 options in the Zamalek crisis with Ahmed Sayed Zizo, as it has the right to uphold the Players' Affairs Committee's decision to archive the complaint, amend it, or cancel all the appealed decisions entirely.
