The Egyptian Clubs Association announced the date for holding the draw for the new 2026-2027 season.
Zamalek holds the title of the previous edition of the league competition.
The Professional Egyptian Clubs Association decided to hold the draw for the league championship for the 2026-2027 season on Wednesday, August 5 next.
The draw will be held at the Goal Project headquarters in Sheikh Zayed City at exactly three o'clock in the afternoon Cairo time.
The league is scheduled to kick off on August 21 next.
The Egyptian League will be held with the participation of 20 teams in the next season.
The tournament starts with a single round-robin system, then the top 6 teams compete in a group for the title, while the remaining teams compete to avoid relegation.
Four teams will be relegated to the second division at the end of the season, with three teams promoted in their place, making the league consist of 19 teams in the 2027/2028 season.
The Professional Egyptian Clubs Association re-elected Ahmed Diab as its president by acclamation to continue in his position.
The Clubs Association elections were held and the new composition of the association was approved by acclamation.
Ahmed Diab continues in his position as chairman of the association's board of directors.
Along with the membership of Ibrahim Al-Kafrawi, Khaled Refaat, and Khaled Shukri, in addition to Mohamed El-Khouly, who is the only change on the list and entered instead of Sherif Saleh.
The Football Association will announce next week the duo it has nominated for the Clubs Association board of directors.
