Ivorian Yan Diomande, Real Madrid's new signing, expressed his immense joy at joining the royal club, affirming that working under Portuguese manager José Mourinho and sharing the locker room with the team's stars represent an exceptional experience for him.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Diomande revealed that Mourinho contacted him by phone at midnight during his transfer negotiations to Real Madrid in order to convince him to join the squad, a move the player described as unforgettable.
During his official presentation, Diomande said: "I am proud to be here because Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world. Everyone dreams of playing for this club, and I will do my utmost to give my best."
He added, "Training under the best coach in the world and playing alongside the best players in the world is incredible."
The Ivorian player further stated: "Seeing all these trophies gives you great motivation to win more. I eagerly look forward to competing in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League; my goal is to lift both titles, and why not start this season?"
Diomande's remarks came during a special presentation ceremony organized by Real Madrid, attended by fans and media outlets, marking the final event for introducing new players to the squad this season.
During the presentation ceremony, Diomande signed a seven-season contract with Real Madrid, extending until June 30, 2033, before receiving a model of the team's stadium, a watch, and a jersey bearing his name and the number 25.
