The Athletic: Aston Villa finalizes agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Ibrahim Mbaye

English club Aston Villa has agreed with French side Paris Saint-Germain to sign Senegalese international Ibrahim Mbaye in the current transfer window.

British outlet "The Athletic" revealed that Aston Villa has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Ibrahim Mbaye.

The report clarified that both clubs have agreed on a deal value of 55 million euros.

Negotiations were concluded following intervention by Nassef Sawiris, Aston Villa's chairman, who leveraged his strong relationship with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Paris Saint-Germain's chairman, to finalize everything.

Mbaye was promoted to Paris Saint-Germain's first team in the summer of 2025.

He played 42 matches for the first team, scoring 4 goals and providing 4 assists.

With Paris Saint-Germain, he won the French League twice, the UEFA Champions League twice, the Intercontinental Cup once, the UEFA Super Cup twice, and the French Cup once.

In the current transfer window, Aston Villa has also signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Alejandro Garnacho, Leon Goretzka, Modou Keba Ceesay, Matteo Ruggeri, Zion Suzuki, João Gomes, and Johan Manzambi.

Aston Villa opened their season with a 2-1 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup.

Aston Villa suffered a 4-0 loss in their first Premier League match against Brighton.

Aston Villa will face Arsenal next Monday in the second round of the Premier League at Villa Park.
