External press reports have revealed that Al Ahly Club has entered into serious negotiations to sign Monsef Beqdar, the Croatian Dynamo Zagreb player, during the current summer transfer window.
The Croatian newspaper Germanijak reported that Junior Brumado, the Danish Midtjylland striker, will most likely become Dynamo Zagreb's new striker, but starting next January, as he will join the team on a free transfer.
The report indicated that the arrival of the Brazilian, Brumado, to Dynamo Zagreb will push the Algerian striker, Monsef Beqdar, to third place in the coach's options, not due to a decline in his level or the club's lack of appreciation for him, but because his versatility in positions may work against him.
It added: "In the centre-forward position, Beqdar finds it difficult to get enough minutes due to his teammate Biljo's scoring effectiveness, so he often plays on the wing, a position that is not the most suitable for him, and the arrival of Dani Rodríguez has increased the competition in this position, and with Brumado's imminent arrival, the competition will intensify further".
The Croatian newspaper clarified that Dynamo Zagreb officials are not inclined to sell Beqdar during the current summer transfer window, as they want to keep him, and coach Mario Kovačević currently includes him in the starting lineup, and he is expected to get regular playing time at the start of the season.
Despite this, the report revealed that Beqdar has tempting financial offers from abroad, and his future at Dynamo does not seem ideal given the increasing competition, and therefore the information indicates that he may leave the team during the summer.
It continued: "The most tempting offer appears to be coming from Egypt, where Al Ahly is seeking to sign him, offering him a salary several times higher than what he earns at Dynamo Zagreb, while the Croatian club will receive an amount ranging between 3 and 4 million euros from the deal".
According to the report, Al Ahly had expressed interest in signing Beqdar during the past winter transfer window, but the deal was not strongly pursued at the time, whereas now it has become more serious.
The newspaper concluded: "Despite Dynamo Zagreb's insistence on the player and its unwillingness to sell him, especially before the end of the qualifiers for the UEFA Champions League, the developments surrounding Beqdar indicate that his career with the team may end with his departure from the club during the current summer transfer window".
