Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, revealed that Barcelona, in his estimation, is now in a position to comply with the 1:1 financial control rule, while avoiding giving a definitive confirmation on the matter.

Tebas said during statements on the sidelines of the Complutense University summer courses: "I think yes, but Barcelona should confirm that themselves. We have informed them, and they know their situation best, as it is in the hands of the economic control management."
Tebas indicated that Barcelona closed the last fiscal year with several steps aimed at restoring balance, most notably the entry of 14 million euros from a partial resale of VIP seats in the new Spotify Camp Nou stadium, in addition to the sale of Ansu Fati, which the club considers crucial for presenting a positive budget.
Regarding the mechanism for calculating transfers, the La Liga president explained that the full value of a contract is not calculated in one season, but rather amortized over the years of the contract, clarifying: "A 100 million deal on a 5-year contract is calculated as 20 million annually, plus the player's salary."
Regarding the controversy surrounding his attendance at Joan Laporta's inauguration as president of Barcelona, Tebas stressed that good institutional relations do not affect the league's decisions, affirming that he would attend similar events for any other club, including Real Madrid if necessary.
He also commented on the report sent by Real Madrid to UEFA regarding refereeing during the years of the Negreira case, saying: "What I am sure of is that if there are two clubs that cannot complain about refereeing in these years, they are Real Madrid and Barcelona."
