Tarek Yahya, the former Egyptian football star, believes that the departure of John Edward, the former sports director of Zamalek Club, is a correct decision in favor of Zamalek Club.
Tarek Yahya said in statements on the "MBC Egypt" channel: "The situation that Zamalek Club was in did not please me, Zamalek fans and Moataz Jamal and his technical staff are the ones who brought the league to Zamalek and not John Edward".

He added: "John Edward is the one who involved Zamalek Club in FIFA and dispensed with the distinguished players in the team, and contracted with Yannick Ferreira to coach the team and he did not present anything".
He continued: "Happy with the return of Moataz Jamal and the decision was delayed by 70 days, there is a plan that Hossam Abdel Majeed will play in Europe and then return to Al-Ahly like others, Hossam in a matter of months or a year at least will return to Al-Ahly Club".
He went on: "I have no objection to Hossam Abdel Majeed joining Al-Ahly, Zamalek does not depend on anyone, and Inou, Imam Ashour, Zizo and Reda Abdel Aal are the best proof that Zamalek's entity is not affected by a player's departure".
He added: "What is the secret behind Hossam Abdel Majeed receiving a European offer despite the brilliance of Al-Ahly players in the World Cup and yet they have no offers".
