Talaat Youssef, the former technical director of Tala'a El-Gaish, commented on the extent of Mahmoud Hamdi El-Wensh's ability, the defender of Zamalek Club's first football team, to bear the responsibility of leading the White Knight's defense in the upcoming period, after Hossam Abdel Majeed's departure to the Bulgarian club Ludogorets.
Talaat Youssef said in statements via the "On Sport" channel: "Abdullah Saeed, who is 39 years old, is chosen as the best player in Egypt; when we talk about El-Wensh, who is 31 years old, and who plays with an effort required of him much less than Saeed's position, this is an indication that he is capable of returning to his level again."
He continued: "If we are talking about the level of personality and numbers, El-Wensh during the period he played with me at Tala'a El-Gaish, which was a short period, about three seasons, was the epitome of commitment, and at an age stage that could have negatively affected him, but his desire to be number one in Egypt made him disciplined and perform outstandingly."
He added: "During this period, I remember that El-Wensh was selected for the Olympic team, in the midfield area for two consecutive seasons, so through my knowledge of him and his personality, he is capable of compensating for the departure of Hossam Abdel Majeed, but the idea of injury and its impact on him and the extent of its influence, I think he is the only one capable of settling the matter."
He continued: "After his commitment in the past stage, he bears the responsibility of Zamalek's defense, but not alone, because he could be exposed to injury or a decline in level, so there must be alternatives in this line."
He pointed out: "The participation of the young player depends on his personality, his self-confidence, and the confidence given to him by the technical staff, the fans, and the media; all these motives, if prepared for the youngster, will provide him with 50% of his success."
He concluded: "The player El-Sayed Osama, I imagine he will take space, because he ended the past season in an acceptable manner despite playing few minutes, but in the situations he was placed in, he solved them on the pitch."
