Taha Ezzat, head of the competitions department at the Egyptian Clubs Association, revealed the reason why no financial penalty was imposed on Mohamed Shawky, ZED's head coach, for missing the press conference following the match against Al-Ahly.
Taha Ezzat told FilGoal.com: "The coach's attendance at the post-match press conference in league games is mandatory, but Mohamed Shawky did not attend the press conference after the ZED vs. Al-Ahly match due to sudden and severe exhaustion."
He added, "He requested the association to allow the assistant coach to attend in his place, and the association approved this request. Therefore, no penalty was imposed on him for missing the press conference."
ZED lost to Al-Ahly by two unanswered goals in the second round of the Egyptian Premier League.
The Egyptian Clubs Association announced the disciplinary decisions for the second round of the Egyptian Premier League, which included no penalties imposed on ZED.
ZED will face Tala'ea El Gaish in the third round of the league.
