The Supreme Council for Media Regulation, chaired by Khaled Abdel Aziz, decided to ban media personality Karim Hassan Shatta from appearing for one month, following what he shared during an episode broadcast last month.
The Supreme Council for Media Regulation confirmed that Karim Hassan Shatta's suspension will take effect from the date of the broadcast of the episode in question, which aired on August 29 of last year.
In its statement, the Supreme Council for Media Regulation clarified that the suspension was based on a report from its General Directorate of Monitoring.
The disputed episode of Karim Hassan Shatta's program sparked a particular kind of controversy after the aforementioned media personality claimed that referee Mohamed Marouf requested Wael Gomaa, the football manager of Al Ahly, to substitute team player Ali Mahmoud to avoid his red card.

"The Supreme Council for Media Regulation, chaired by Engineer Khaled Abdel Aziz, approved the recommendation of the Complaints Committee, chaired by media personality Essam El Amir, the Council's Deputy, regarding the episode of the program 'Kora Kull Yawm' (Football Every Day) broadcast on 'Al Hayat' channel on August 29 of last year, hosted by Mr. Karim Hassan Shatta."
"The Council's decision includes obligating all media outlets subject to the provisions of the Press and Media Regulation Law No. 180 of 2018 to ban the appearance of Mr. Karim Hassan Shatta for one month from the date of the broadcast of the episode in question."
"The Council's decision was based on a report from the General Directorate of Monitoring of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, in addition to the proceedings of the hearing held by the Complaints Committee, in the presence of the legal representative of Al Hayat channel."
