Ayman Fathi said in statements during the Vodafone sponsorship announcement ceremony for Al-Ahly: "I thank Al-Khatib for his support for the Al-Ahly Football Company".
He continued: "Al-Ahly is a large institution with history and status, we are always looking for a partner and not a sponsor, who has the same ambition and the same idea, and is able to add value to the club's history".
He continued: "The competition is not only for championships but in the brand and the quality of what is presented to the fans and the ability of each club to be ahead by several steps".
He went on: "Vodafone was part of the club's history and has now become part of the club's future".
He concluded: "We are not celebrating the start of a new partnership, but we are celebrating the addition of new value to the club".
Vodafone Egypt announced the conclusion of a long-term strategic partnership with Al-Ahly Club and other partners, in a step aimed at bringing about a qualitative shift in the sports and entertainment sector in Egypt, through the use of technology in developing the fans' experience.
The partnership includes Vodafone's return to Egyptian football as a main partner of Al-Ahly Club and an exclusive technology partner, in addition to the company's logo appearing on the first team's jersey, and providing exclusive benefits and experiences for fans during match days, as well as cooperation in programs to discover and nurture sports talents in various governorates of Egypt.
The launch of "Vodafone Stadium" represents one of the most prominent axes of the partnership, as it is the first stadium in Egypt to bear the company's name, reflecting an approach that goes beyond the concept of traditional sponsorship to long-term investment in the future of sports.
