Italian Simone Inzaghi, Al-Hilal coach, requested the sports management to bolster the Blues' ranks by signing a foreign right-back from the Mawalid category, according to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya.
The report clarified that Al-Hilal management is studying more than one option to strengthen the right-back position, weighing between signing a right-back from the Mawalid category alongside a local right-back, or settling for signing just one player, according to the technical needs and the team's final squad.
The report added that the file is still under study, with the final decision to be made in the coming days, after completing technical discussions between the coaching staff and the sports management, in preparation for the new season.
Al-Hilal launched the first phase of preparations on Saturday, in preparation for the new season in Riyadh under the supervision of their Italian coach Simone Inzaghi.
Al-Hilal will play 4 friendly matches during their overseas training camp.
They will start with a match against Austrian Sturm Graz on July 19, then South African Mamelodi Sundowns on the 24th, followed five days later by Algerian Mouloudia, and conclude the camp against Qatari Al-Ahli on August 3.
The Al-Hilal team faces three challenges in the new season, as they will compete in the Saudi League, the King Cup, and the AFC Champions League Elite.
