Al Ahli Jeddah club has granted Spanish coach Xavi Hernandez a deadline to respond to its coaching offer.
Al Ahli Jeddah is seeking a new coach to replace German Matthias Jaissle, who is close to coaching Newcastle.
According to what FilGoal.com learned, Al Ahli Jeddah has given Xavi Hernandez 48 hours to respond to the official offer presented to him to coach the team, replacing German Matthias Jaissle, who is close to coaching Newcastle.
The same newspaper had earlier indicated that Al Ahli club management decided to choose between three names to contract with one of them to succeed Jaissle: Portuguese coaches Vitor Pereira and Nuno Santo, and Spanish coach Xavi Hernandez.
Xavi Hernandez has not managed any team since leaving Barcelona at the end of the season before last.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports reported that Jaissle will lead the English team Newcastle United, succeeding Eddie Howe.

Eddie Howe will depart after five years as Newcastle's manager.
The 38-year-old Jaissle won the AFC Champions League twice with Al Ahli Jeddah.
Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund owns both Al Ahli Jeddah and Newcastle.
Jaissle joined Al Ahli Jeddah in 2023 and led them to win the AFC Champions League in consecutive years 2025 and 2026.
Eddie Howe took over as Newcastle manager in November 2021, succeeding Steve Bruce, following the Saudi Public Investment Fund's acquisition.
