The Spanish newspaper "Sport" highlighted Barcelona coach Hans Flick taking 17 young players to the preparatory camp in England, in preparation for the new season.
Barcelona headed to England yesterday to begin its preparatory training camp for the anticipated new season 2026/27, which continues until August 3 next.
Barcelona will play two friendly matches in England against Birmingham City and Preston North End, on the coming Friday and Monday.
Barcelona's squad called up to participate in the training camp in England included 17 players from the youth team, in light of the absence of many key stars as they are still enjoying their summer vacation after participating in the World Cup.
Among those young players is the Egyptian Hamza Abdel Karim who made his first appearance with Hans Flick's squad last Friday during a Europa match, where Barcelona won four goals to one.

The Spanish newspaper "Sport" said about Hamza Abdel Karim: "A striker of the highest caliber, enjoying great confidence from Barcelona, 18 years old and participated in the World Cup with the Egyptian national team recently".
It added: "Hamza Abdel Karim joined Barcelona coming from Al Ahly and informed his counterpart of his desire to activate the purchase clause a few weeks ago, he is considered a pivotal player in the penalty area and he is of the type of players that La Masia often lacks".
The youth squad also included, besides Hamza Abdel Karim, each of: Iker Rodriguez, Yako, Xavi Espart, Alvaro Cortes, Jofre Torrents, Jordi Besker, Tommy Marquez, Brian Farinas, Ibrahim Diarra, Orian Gorin, Gili Fernandez, Tonkara, Oscar Gistau, Alex Gonzalez, Shane Kluivert and Tony Fernandez.
