Mostafa Shobeir, goalkeeper of Al-Ahly's first football team, is close to renewing his contract with the club.

Shobeir's current contract with Al-Ahly expires at the end of the ongoing season in June 2027.

A source told FilGoal: "Al-Ahly met with Mostafa Shobeir this evening, and both parties agreed on all terms of the new contract, in addition to the advertising deal."

He added: "Al-Ahly has agreed with Shobeir to renew his contract for three seasons."

The source clarified: "Mostafa Shobeir informed Al-Ahly's football management officials and Essam Sirag, the club's contracting director, that he is ready to sign either today or tomorrow, but he wants guarantees ensuring his professionalism, either through a penalty clause or a clear and explicit commitment."

The source concluded: "Until yesterday, Al-Ahly had rejected this demand, but there has been a thaw in the stance of the club's officials regarding this clause, and both parties are now working to reach a satisfactory formula."

Mostafa Shobeir had received several European offers during the summer transfer window, headed by Danish club Nordsjælland and Italian side Como.

Mostafa Shobeir delivered an outstanding performance with the Egyptian national team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup last month.

Shobeir participated in Al-Ahly's first match of the current Egyptian Premier League season, conceding two goals against Sharqia Enppi.

It is worth noting that Al-Ahly had previously announced the renewal of Imam Ashour's contract until the 2030 season.
