Newcastle United completed its agreement with German Matthias Jaissle to coach the team next season.
Newcastle club announced the departure of Eddie Howe from coaching the team during the preparation period, after spending 5 years with the club.
According to Sky network, Jaissle joined Newcastle's camp after the agreement was reached with him.
Newcastle club is scheduled to announce the appointment of the 38-year-old coach today, Sunday, after completing the contractual procedures between the two parties.
Jaissle left coaching Saudi Al-Ahli Jeddah days ago after negotiations with Newcastle began.
Matthias Jaissle (38 years old) supervised Al-Ahli's training during 138 matches, achieving 92 wins, 21 draws, and 25 losses, and won with them the AFC Champions League Elite title twice and the Saudi Super Cup.
Howe had taken over coaching Newcastle in November 2021, leading the team to escape relegation before guiding them to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, then winning the English League Cup in 2025, the club's first major domestic title since 1955.
However, the results of the past season were disappointing, after Newcastle finished the English Premier League in twelfth place and exited the UEFA Champions League in the round of 16, which increased pressure on the coach before he decided to leave in the coming days.
