Newcastle United has settled its agreement with the German Matthias Jaissle, the technical director of Saudi Al-Ahli, to take over the leadership of the team as a successor to Eddie Howe.
According to Sky Sports network, Newcastle has reached a complete agreement with Jaissle regarding the personal terms, and it has been decided to complete his transfer immediately.
The report clarified that the English club is preparing to activate the penalty clause in the coach's contract, while officially informing Saudi Al-Ahli of his departure.
It is expected that Jaissle, who is 38 years old, will sign a contract extending until the summer of 2030, in the coming few days, to begin his first coaching experiences in the English league.
Eddie Howe will leave after 5 years he spent as coach of Newcastle.
Jaissle, 38 years old, won the AFC Champions League twice with Jeddah Al-Ahli.
Jaissle led the Jeddah Al-Ahli team in 138 matches during 3 seasons.
The German coach achieved victory in 83 matches, drew 21, while losing 25 matches.
The Saudi Public Investment Fund owns the Saudi Jeddah Al-Ahli team and Newcastle.
Jaissle joined Jeddah Al-Ahli in 2023 to lead them to the AFC Champions League twice consecutively in the years 2025 and 2026.
