Ahmed Shobier, former goalkeeper for Al Ahly Club, revealed the latest developments in the negotiations regarding his son's contract renewal with the Red Fortress in the coming period.
Shobier clarified in a statement via Al Nahar Channel that all of Al Ahly Club's requests regarding the terms of the new contract have been approved by Mostafa, noting that the club offered the player 25 million pounds per season, in addition to a specific amount as incentives, an offer that the goalkeeper accepted.
He added that the negotiations included a discussion regarding the advertising clause, where Al Ahly offered the player 70% of the advertising value in exchange for 30% for the club, in addition to the player's participation in two or three advertisements for the club free of charge.
Shobier indicated that Mostafa Shobier had hoped to receive 80% of the advertising value in exchange for 20% for the club, especially since one company receives a commission of approximately 10%, but Al Ahly insisted on the percentage it had set, which the player ultimately agreed to.
Al Ahly Rejects Signing Bonus
Shobier addressed another point in the negotiations, clarifying that Mostafa Shobier inquired about the possibility of receiving a signing bonus, but Al Ahly informed him that the club does not give players signing bonuses, except for the possibility of it being provided by one of the club's fans.
Shobier confirmed that the player also agreed to this matter, and it did not pose an obstacle to the continuation of the negotiations.
Shobier explained that his son informed him over the past three days that he would sign his new contract with Al Ahly Club, confirming that his current contract has one year remaining, while the renewal will be for an additional two years.
He pointed out that Mostafa Shobier's agent was only asking for some time to study the possibility of external offers reaching the player, similar to the offer made by Italian club Como to secure the goalkeeper's services.
Shobier concluded his remarks by confirming that Al Ahly has not officially announced the offer from Como, while the negotiations for Mostafa Shobier's contract renewal are heading towards a resolution in the coming period.
