Ahmed Shoubir, father of Al Ahly goalkeeper Mostafa Shoubir, revealed the latest developments in the negotiations to renew his son’s contract with the club.
Al Ahly has made an offer to Mostafa Shoubir to renew his contract with the club in the coming period.
Speaking on On Sport Radio, Shoubir said: “Mostafa told me twice last week that he would renew his contract with Al Ahly, but nothing has been finalized yet.”
He added: “There are some details preventing the completion of the contract, but things will be resolved soon.”
He concluded: “Everything being said about the release clause is incorrect.”
Mostafa Shoubir informed the football management and Al Ahly’s head of transfers, Essam Sarraj, that he is ready to sign today or tomorrow, but he wants what guarantees his professionalism, either through a release clause or a clear and explicit promise, according to a source revealed to Laila Kora. Shoubir’s contract with Al Ahly expires at the end of the current season in June 2027.
Mostafa Shoubir received several European offers during the summer transfer window, led by Denmark’s Nordsjælland and Italy’s Como.
Mostafa Shoubir shone for the Egyptian national team at the 2026 World Cup last month.
Shoubir featured in Al Ahly’s first two matches in the Egyptian league this season, conceding two goals against Sharqia Enppi.
