The Football Association revealed the appointment of Shawky Gharib as technical director of the Egyptian Football Association.
The Egyptian Football Association decided to rely on national cadres, especially after the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, following the success of Hossam Hassan's experience with the national team.
Shawky Gharib previously worked as assistant coach for Egypt's first national team alongside Hassan Shehata from November 2004 until June 2011.
He also took charge of the Egyptian national team for one year from November 2023 until 2024.
He also previously led Egypt's Olympic team from 2018 until 2021.
At the club level, he coached Smouha, Ismaily, El Entag El Harby, El Mokawloon, and Ghazl El Mahalla.
