Mohamed Ismail, the sporting director of El Entag El Harby (Enppi), believes that the Eastern Delta club performed well against Al Ahly despite the loss in the league.
Al Ahly defeated Enppi 3-2 in the opening match of the Egyptian Premier League.
Speaking via Modern Channel, Mohamed Ismail said: "I see El Entag El Harby's start in the league as very successful for the team and the technical staff led by Mohamed Bركات, despite the late loss, especially given the match against Al Ahly after their reinforcements."
He added, "We deserved at least a point from the match, but we can build on this in the future."
He emphasized, "What distinguishes the team is the continuous reliance on young players, and we saw 21-year-old Mohamed Essam in the match."
Ismail revealed, "Honestly, I was very optimistic after Al Ahly's match against Barcelona, and I expected Al Ahly's start to the season to be poor, as some predicted, which is exactly what happened."
He added, "I believe El Entag El Harby's drop in the second half was due to attempts to hold onto the lead and the three points, but football is always like that; when you focus on a draw, you lose."
He concluded his remarks, "There is great doubt about the penalty, and Bencherki is a big player who knows how to hunt for fouls, but I do not want to talk about refereeing. I felt it deserved more review, but I do not want to dwell on this matter so that it is not said that we are complaining about the referees."
Al Ahly secured their second consecutive win against Enppi after five consecutive matches in all competitions where they had not known victory against their opponent.
The first match for Al Ahly's head coach, Hussein Amouta, saw a comeback after trailing by two goals and a return to the top of the table.
Al Ahly is preparing for their match against Zed next Friday in the second round of the league.
Meanwhile, Enppi will host their guests Wadi Degla on the same day.
