The Egyptian Football Association announced the conclusion of the physical fitness tests for international referees, Premier League referees, professionals, and assistant referees, this evening, Thursday.
The tests known as "Cooper" were held on the fields of Al-Nasr Club, in the presence of Essam Abdel Fattah, the new head of the Referees Committee, in his first official appearance since assuming the presidency of the committee.
The tests witnessed the attendance of 44 field referees, of whom 36 referees succeeded, while 8 referees did not pass the test, and 72 assistant referees attended, of whom 52 assistants succeeded, while 20 assistants did not pass the test.
The tests were conducted according to the standards approved by the International Football Association, within the program set by the Egyptian Football Association and the main Referees Committee to prepare the referees before the start of the new football season 2026-2027 competitions, as part of the plan to raise the physical and technical efficiency of the arbitration elements.
A number of international referees, Premier League referees, and assistants, numbering 24 field referees and 68 assistants, had undergone the "Cooper" physical fitness test yesterday evening, Wednesday.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian Football Association, headed by Hani Abu Rida, had previously announced the appointment of Essam Abdel Fattah as the new head of the Referees Committee, succeeding the Colombian, Oscar Ruiz.
