The Italian AC Milan club announced the appointment of Portuguese Ruben Amorim as the team's new technical director.
Amorim's appointment to lead the Milan team in the new season comes as a successor to Massimiliano Allegri, the former coach of the Italian team.
Ruben Amorim had left Manchester United's coaching position in January of this year, after leading the English team in 63 matches.
The Italian club did not mention the duration of Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim's contract after assuming responsibility for coaching the team in the new season.
Ruben Amorim said in statements to the Milan website: "There are ambitions that accompany a person throughout his professional career, and coaching AC Milan has always been one of them."
He added: "I know exactly what this club represents: a rich history, a prestigious status, and an exceptional fan base around the world."
Amorim concluded his statements: "It is a challenge that I accept with pride and enthusiasm, fully aware of what these colors represent. I look forward to starting work and experiencing the passion that drives AC Milan every day."
