Romano stated via his official account on the "X" platform that Real Madrid made the first contact with Manchester City regarding signing Rodri, and now there are verbal discussions between both clubs.
Romano added that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has approved the signing of Rodri after months of refusal, while the Royal club has expressed its readiness to pay more than €50 million to acquire the 30-year-old.
Rodri would represent a major addition to Real Madrid's midfield and could form a standout duo alongside his former Manchester City teammate and the club's new arrival, Bernardo Silva, next season.
