Newcastle have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Nicolas González during the current summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano, the journalist specializing in transfer market news, revealed that Manchester City have accepted Newcastle's recent offer to sign Nicolas González.
Newcastle's offer reached £47 million plus £3 million in add-ons.
The midfielder will undergo medical examinations before the deal is officially announced within the next few hours.
Nico González began his career with Barcelona's youth team before moving to Valencia on loan.
He joined Porto permanently in the summer of 2023, spending a season and a half with the Portuguese side before transferring to Manchester City in January 2025.
Since joining the Sky Blues, he has played 59 matches, scoring 4 goals.
González came on as a substitute for 11 minutes in Manchester City's Community Shield match against Arsenal, while he remained on the bench in their first-round fixture against Bournemouth.
Manchester City secured victory in their opening round match against Bournemouth with a 2-1 scoreline.
Meanwhile, Newcastle drew 2-2 against Liverpool.
