Rolani Mokwena, Pyramids' new technical director, confirmed that the club is currently aiming to expand its fan base, noting that he dreams of reaching one million supporters for the team.
Rolani Mokwena said in statements to a South African radio station: "Pyramids winning the CAF Champions League before? It represents an incredible motivation for us.. Certainly, the pressure is there, but if you don't want the pressure, don't accept this kind of job".
The South African coach added: "The pressure is aimed at continuing to develop the players, and also to continue developing the team in a way that makes it evolve toward the features of a very big club".
He continued: "These are the discussions we have constantly with the club about how we really want to try to develop the style of play so that it is linked to results, and so that we can increase the number of fans and followers the club has".
He added: "The CAF Champions League final two seasons ago against Mamelodi Sundowns was a sign that the club is heading in a good direction because the stadium was packed at the time".
He went on: "When you think that Egypt has a population of 120 million, if we can reach more than 500 thousand or a million people to become Pyramids fans, and thus get 25 or 30 thousand to come to the stadium, that would be an incredible achievement".
He continued: "This is what we are trying to do, trying to develop the club to become a brand not only linked to success in terms of titles.. We want to maintain that".
He explained that he also wants to ensure the development of the Pyramids brand, through its standing, through its performance on the pitch, and trying to ensure it is known globally.
Rolani Mokwena concluded his statements by saying: "Pyramids is the type of club that does not need to grant the coach full authority.. The mandates are implicit and unannounced, and all you have to do is look at the club's recent history to understand what must continue in terms of successful results".
